Riverside: 2011 Green Economy Symposium

RIVERSIDE, CA – The Black Voice News will be hosting a 2011 Green Economy Symposium event, to be held on April 29, 2011 from 10:30 am to 2:00 pm at the Grier Pavilion located at 3900 Main Street, 7th Floor, Riverside, CA. There is no charge for admission or lunch.

In keeping with the 2009 Green Economy Symposium, featuring the CPUC, Commissioner Tim Simon, we will continue to address green jobs, recycling and disposal, electronic waste and disposal, environmental health issues, sustainability, stewardship of the earth’s resources, and energy conservation.

This event will include a panel presentation on their current “Green Power Initiatives.” Chamber members, faith-based communities, elected officials and community builders will be invited to attend and take part in the discussion.

The sponsors of the 2011 Green Economy Symposium are The Southern California Gas Company, Riverside Public Utilities, Southern California Edison, and March Life Care. Lea Petersen, Public Affairs Manager of The Southern California Gas Company will be the moderator of the panel discussion.

The panelists of this event will include Jamil Dada, the President of the Association of the Workforce Development Board, Mike Bolin, Clean Fuels Manager of The Southern California Gas Company; Leonard Robinson, Federal Liaison of the California EPA – Department of Toxic Substances Control, and Ryan Gleason, Account Manager of Riverside Public Utilities.

The Black Voice News has previously hosted green events in the Inland Empire in an effort to educate the Faith and Interfaith communities. These events have spread awareness about environmental efforts such as recycling, green jobs, electronic waste disposal procedures, and energy conservation.
