RIVERSIDE: First 5 Riverside Honored For Prestigious Fiscal Reporting Award

First 5 Riverside Honored For Prestigious Fiscal Reporting Award

The Riverside County Board of Supervisors is acknowledging the Riverside County Children & Families (First 5 Riverside) Commission today for its achievement in earning the prestigious Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA). The GFOA is a nonprofit professional group serving about 17,500 government finance officials. The Certificate is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting. It is earned based on judgment of an agency’s comprehensive annual financial report by an impartial panel to meet high standards such as demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story. An Award of Financial Reporting Achievement has also been awarded to the individuals primarily responsible for First 5 Riverside’s fiscal services. First 5 Riverside Administrator Sandy Duncan also shares a Financial Reporting Achievement Award with her team.
