Riverside County Names Brenda Diederichs HR Director

Riverside County names new HR director with more than 20 years’ experience

Riverside, CA – Brenda Diederichs, former Orange County chief human resources officer, took over her duties as Riverside County’s new HR director earlier this week. Diederichs also holds the title of assistant county executive officer.

Brenda Diederichs - Riverside County HR Director“Brenda will be invaluable as we work to implement an automated human-resources system and complete the HR transformation that is under way,” County Executive Officer George Johnson said. “She also brings experience in health-and-wellness initiatives, including a national award-winning wellness program.” The award from the National Association of Counties was for Orange County’s Healthy Steps Wellness.

Diederichs has more than 20 years’ experience in the public sector involving learning management systems, labor-relations negotiations and policy/contract development. She was the City of Riverside’s HR director for two years and executive officer for labor/employee relations and human resources for seven years with the Los Angeles Metropolitan Transportation Authority.

She earned her law degree from Loyola Law School and is an active member of the state bar, with 19 years as a practicing labor and employment law attorney. Diederichs succeeds Michael T. Stock, who retired in February after five years as a director and eight years with the department.
