The Fabulous Thunderbirds

From the beginning, 30 years ago, the band has been led by one of a kind vocalist / harmonica player, Kim Wilson. The group’s distinctive and powerful sound mixes Texas blues and southern rock with harmonica laced swamp blues and R&B.
Special guests Rod Piazza and The Mighty Flyers are no strangers to the Fox stage or Southern California audiences. They form one of the best and most distinctive bands in blues today: fresh, swinging, tasteful, exciting and creative.

“Exploring Musical Summits”

Brahms “Violin Concerto”
Mendelssohn “Ruy Blas Overture”
Schumann “Symphony #2”

Robert Schumann was a rather controversial figure during the 19th century. One of the greatest composers of the period, a virtuoso pianist, an influential music critic, and a lifelong aesthete, Schumann had as many friends as he had enemies. Those with whom he was close, including Felix Mendelssohn and Johannes Brahms, were lifelong friends who shared views about life, art, and the future of both. Join us as we celebrate one of the greatest circles of musical friends in the history of music. The Riverside County Philharmonic is joined by one of today’s best violinists, Yuval Yaron (a former student of the legendary Jascha Heifetz), in Brahms’ beloved Violin Concerto.
