Riverside: International Folk Icon Arlo Guthrie In Concert at The Fox Performing Arts Center

Riverside, CA – Folk icon Arlo Guthrie, son of famed philosopher/folk singer Woody, has become legendary in his own right.   Best known for his iconic folk songs including the 1967 epic, “Alice’s Restaurant”, Arlo Guthrie connects with fans far and wide leaving a lasting impression of hope and inspiration.  His masterful story telling interwoven with classics like “Coming Into Los Angeles” and the “City Of New Orleans,” have led viewers world-wide to call his acoustic concerts works of art.  His performance on Sunday night, April 10th, at the Fox Performing Arts Center in Riverside will be the culmination of a three-day celebration in the inland empire to honor his father. Backed by son, Abe, along with a full band and the siren song of The Burns Sisters, this evening of folklore, new songs and best-loved classics is guaranteed to leave the audience smiling.

Friday, April 8th– 7:30 PM – “Woody Guthrie’s America” at the San Bernardino County Museum, FREE to the public.   Presentation featuring Joel Rafael–pre-eminent Guthrie interpreter– as singer, poet and storyteller–bringing Woody Guthrie’s words and music to life.

Saturday, April 9th – 1:30 PM –“GO Waggaloo!” Children’s Concert at the San Bernardino County Museum, FREE to the public.  An interactive Children’s Concert with Sarah Lee Guthrie (Woody’s granddaughter) and her husband, Johnny Irion, and their two beautiful girls.

Saturday, April 9th – 8:00 PM – Jimmy LaFave Band – Mill Creek Cattle Co – Mentone  $15.  The Austin City Limits veteran and the author and featured performer of the Ribbon Of Highway, Endless Skyway Woody Guthrie Tribute, Jimmy LaFave and his own special brand of rockabilly are sure to have the audience dancing and singing along.

Sunday, April 10th – 7:30 PM – Arlo Guthrie – The Fox Performing Arts Center – Riverside.  The Folk Icon performs new songs and classics as he tells stories of Woody and his own adventures in America and throughout the world.
