Tonya Kennon Selected by Colleagues for Statewide Leadership Post
RIVERSIDE, Calif. – Riverside Public Library Director Tonya Kennon has been elected to the Board of Directors for the California Library Association.
The California Library Association represents the interests of public, school, academic, law and special librarians and support staff across the state. Kennon will serve a three-year term.
“I am honored to have been selected by my colleagues across the state to represent them and to help shape the future of California libraries,” Kennon said.
Kennon became the City of Riverside’s Library Director in July 2011. She previously was the chief librarian for Riverside County.
Kennon will be one of 13 members of the Board of Directors for the California Library Association. Board members are responsible for setting policy and direction for the association and for assisting in the review of financial reports.
