- In July The Salvation Army’s State funding for its Preschool may be cut over 39%, which is almost $300,000.
- You can save your community preschool by pledging a scholarship for one of our 110 children.
- Preschoolers 3 to 5 receive a quality education in their critical years while their parents work or go to school.
- The majority of our families are simply too poor for The new co-payment on top of their existing family fee.
- With out your help the children would have to drop out of school catapulting their parents onto government assistance.

School administrators feel many children are un-prepared for Kindergarten and are contemplating increasing the entrance age one year. As a testimony to our preschool our graduate Madison tested so high that administrators stated that she could skip Kindergarten and go directly to 1st grade.

Major Turnaround….
Tara is a four year old in our Preschool program. Her mother Flo was homeless for several years. After suffering the loss of two children Flo accepted Christ into her heart and turned her life around. She will graduate on the RCC Dean’s list in Fall with her associate’s degree & transfer to Cal Baptist University.

- $750 Million or 6% of the Governor’s proposed budget cuts are in child development.
- That will directly affect our Riverside Salvation Army Preschool by cutting our funding almost $300,000 or 39%.
- It is proposed that our 102 poor families can make up the difference. We do agree they can make up some of the difference, but there is no way they could pay the full amount.
- These parents serve their community by working at local fast food and sit down restaurants, hotels, and retail stores.
- Some are also single parent families trying to become more self sufficient by working hard to get an education at RCC, UCR, & Cal Baptist.
