Riverside, CA – The Toro Company is a leading worldwide provider of turf and landscape maintenance equipment, and irrigation solutions. They will host their annual WaterSmart® symposium, “Success Without Excess, Achieving 20×2020” on July 13th at their irrigation headquarters in Riverside, California.
Members of the media are urged to attend this one-day event, which will detail ways government and private sector can cooperate to help achieve compliance with California’s SBx7. The measure which was signed into law last year, requires California water agencies to cut water use statewide by 20% by the year 2020.
The event will also highlight the statewide rollout of FreeSprinklerNozzles.com, a water-saving program created by Western Municipal Water District and sponsored by Metropolitan Water District of Southern California. Los Angeles Deputy Mayor, Romel Pasqual, and Riverside Mayor Pro Tem, Rusty Bailey, will present awards from the State to both agencies for their support of that program, and The Toro Company will be recognized for its development of the water-saving Precision™ Series Spray Nozzles.
Several other dignitaries are scheduled to speak such as Jeffrey Kightlinger – general manager of Metropolitan Water District, John Rossi – general manager Western Municipal Water District, state senators Bob Dutton and Bill Emmerson, William Steel – U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, and Manucher Alemi – California department of water resources. California assemblyman Kevin Jeffries will be the Master of Ceremonies for the event.
