UCR Orchestra ONCE UPON A TIME: Music that Tells Stories A Family Concert conducted by Ruth Charloff, with storyteller Karen Wilson

RIVERSIDE, CA – The University of California, Riverside, Department of Music and Esther Hays present ONCE UPON A TIME: Music that Tells Stories, a special family concert by the UCR Orchestra with storyteller Karen Wilson. The program includes orchestral music that tells stories, featuring Copland’s John Henry, Ravel’s wonderful fairy tales from the Mother Goose Suite, Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel, Jose Elizondo’s Mexican folktales of the Pájaro Sagrado, and more. Ruth Charloff conducts.

The audience is invited to join the musicians after the concert for a juice-and-cookies reception.

Admission is FREE, but everyone must reserve a ticket to enter. To reserve FREE tickets, please email PerformingArts@ucr.edu and include your name, phone, and the number of seats needed. Each family member, including children, must have a ticket.

Seating is limited and on a first-come, first-served basis in the main concert hall and upstairs in the Screening Room where a LiveCast of the concert will be available.

Parking permits are available for $4.00 at the Information Kiosk, located near the University Avenue entrance to campus.
