Riverside Youth Theatre Announces Summer Theatre Auditions for Bye Bye Birdie

Riverside Youth Theatre is announcing auditions for its summer musical, Bye Bye Birdie. Auditions will be held Monday, April 15 from 4:00-6:00 pm at the Fellowship Baptist Church, Back Building, 3624 Arlington Avenue, Riverside.

When the side-burned, hip-shaking Presley roared out of Tennessee to turn the music world upside down, it was the start of an exciting era.  Kids were enchanted.  Parents were outraged.  Elvis’ first national appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show was a major event.  Presley’s tremendous impact was a classic example of generation-gap confrontation.  Bye Bye Birdie is an affectionate satire of the Elvis Presley phenomenon.

We will be casting up to 40 students from 10-21 years for this production.  Parents of cast members are also invited to participate in three group numbers.  There will be 6 performances at our new Riverside venue on July 12-14, 19-21.

Please bring your own Karaoke background track for the audition.  No a capella singing.  Expect to sing approximately 1 minute of a Broadway song for the audition.  Bring your performing resume and headshot.

For audition hints and expectations, and to answer common questions student have, view our website at www.RiversideYouthTheatre.org.

“I just want to thank you so much for all that you are doing for my daughter!  Her confidence is building right before my eyes! Your production team members are pros, very dedicated, and I’m so glad to have found your program.”  This quote from a new parent is what you can expect when you participate a Riverside Youth Theatre musical production.
