1,000 Turkeys and Food Boxes Given to Families on Saturday, November 17, 2018

San Bernardino, CA – Community Action Partnership of San Bernardino County and the Young Visionaries Youth Leadership Academy are co-hosting this community event designed to help families in need of assistance during the holidays.

Turkeys and Food Boxes will be given to 1,000 families who will also be able to obtain resources, goods and services at the Resource Fair. Turkey and Food Boxes will be distributed on a first come, first served basis to low-income San Bernardino County residents with photo ID. There is a limit of one Turkey per household. We are expecting over 50 agencies that will be on hand to assist families in need. The event will have a special Kids Zone set up with a bouncer house, mechanical bull and entertainment. Over 1,000 are expected to attend.

Saturday, November 17, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
The event is significant because:

  • 26% of children in San Bernardino county live below the poverty level* and need assistance with events and programs like this. *Source: 2016 American Community Survey
  • The community is coming together to help others in need for the holidays at this event. Over 50 individuals and groups are volunteering and several additional agencies/groups have held food drives in advance to support this giving event.

Parking will be available at the southwest corner of Mill St. & Tippecanoe Ave. (Child Care Resource Center Building.) Assistance will be available for seniors and disabled individuals.

Young Visionaries Youth Leadership Academy

Young Visionaries Youth Leadership Academy (YVYLA) is an award winning nonprofit organization proudly serving the youth of San Bernardino County since 2001.
