San Bernardino County Museum Association Plans Trip to Costa Rica

The San Bernardino County Museum Association is hosting a trip to tropical Costa Rica from October 12 through 20, 2013. Reservations are now being accepted for the nine-day adventure, organized by Collette Vacations. Guests who book before May 3, 2013 will save $100 per person.

Highlights of the trip include arrival in San Jose, the colorful capital city of Costa Rica, and trips to the Doka Cofee Estate, Tamarindo Beach, the Monteverde Cloud Forest, Selvatura Park, a cruise on Lake Arenal, a two-night stay in Avenal overlooking the Arenal Volcano, and a guided river tour in a panga (covered canoe) through the remote Cano Negro nature preserve.

“This trip is an outstanding opportunity to see wildlife,” said LaWanda Avery-Brown, the Museum Association’s executive director. “We will be visiting one of only four places in the world with an ecosystem so unique that it supports a cloud forest. And we will not neglect the cultural heritage of Costa Rica with its picturesque towns, churches, markets, and post-Baroque architecture. The Museum Association is pleased to partner with Collette Vacations to offer a trip that is so relevant to the museum’s mission and audience.”

For more information about this trip, contact Avery-Brown at (909) 307-2669 ext. 225 or e-mail her at lavery-brown@sbcm.sbcounty.gov.
