San Bernardino County Museum Recruiting Volunteers

The Education Division of the San Bernardino County Museum in Redlands is recruiting new volunteers to interact with museum visitors and interpret objects in the exhibits. Volunteers are needed for weekdays and weekends.

Everyone, including high school students, is encouraged to apply. Those interested in finding out more about volunteering can attend one of the orientation workshops scheduled on Thursday, April 14, from 10 to 11:30am, or Saturday, April 16, from 1:30 to 3pm. Training workshops are scheduled in April and early May.

“We cannot do what we do without volunteers,” said Curator of Education Jolene Redvale. “By interacting with visitors and talking about our exhibits and collections, volunteers help make connections between people and their world. Our visitors really love having someone to talk to while they enjoy the museum. Volunteers also facilitate family-oriented activities, often art-making or other creative endeavors.”

Contact Jolene Redvale at the San Bernardino County Museum Education Division (909) 307-2669 ext 252 or email her atjredvale@sbcm.sbcounty.gov. Volunteer applications are also available on the museum’s website www.sbcountymuseum.org.
