San Bernardino: From Pistols to Pencils Program

San Bernardino: On behalf of Young Visionaries Pistols to Pencils Program and the Inland Empire Youth, we would like to invite you, and your family to the “Step Up & Speak Out” Youth Led March and Community Meeting. This event is a memorial for all the lives lost to gun and gang violence in the Inland Empire.

You and your family are receiving a special invitation to this event to have your lost family member, friend and/or loved one memorialized and treasured.

The first event will be the peaceful white balloon vigil symbolic of the people that our community has lost due to violence; your family will each receive a white balloon to release at the end of the march.

The march is approximately 2 blocks. The march will begin at Downtown at San Bernardino City Hall end at the Norman F. Feldhym Library where the moment of silence and the releasing of the balloons will take place.

Immediately following the march will be a youth led community meeting where your family is welcome to speak on behalf of your loved ones, friends and family.

Expected to attend this meeting will be Liaisons from the San Bernardino Police Department, Mayor’s Office, San Bernardino Unified School District, and the Crime Scene Investigation Department.

Your Loved One’s story will not go unheard, or unvalued. Please accept our offer to honor your loved one, and to be a part of the solution to our streets.

To be a part of this monumental event please contact Ms. Arnetta Brown at (909)763-0024, or email at arnetta@yvyla-ie.org by April 6, 2011.

Thank you…Terrance Stone
