SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. The entertainment line-up has been announced for the 3rd Annual San Bernardino Railroad Days sponsored by BNSF Railway at the historic Santa Fe Depot in San Bernardino on April 16 and 17, 2011.
Saturday, April 16
10:00 a.m. – 11: 30 a.m. – Right Angle Rounders – Local bluegrass and acoustic music band. All the members are vocalists. Band includes Pete Roehling on guitar and banjo, Dave Dickey on mandolin, Kevin Chaffee on banjo and dobro and Dan Morgan playing the fiddle.
11:30 a.m. – Redlands Fourth of July Band – The band, headed by Curtiss Allen, will be playing as the #3751 arrives at the Santa Fe Depot on the train side of the depot.
12:30 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. – Paul Justin & The Saloonatixx – The band shares a common goal: having a good time, showing the crowd a great time, and delivering the best performance possible each time they step onto the stage. They play everything from today’s country chart toppers to yesterday’s favorites.
3:00 p.m. 4:45 p.m. – Brad ‘n Buddy – They’re cousins, but not identical! Brad and Buddy Mercer have come together with their fathers’ hearts at the core, a chemistry that has been nurtured and a sound that has been established…a new wine, slightly seasoned.
Sunday, April 17
10:00 a.m. – 12:00 Noon – Ashley’s Midnite Riders – Whether you’re in the mood to listen to country, classic rock, top 40 or pop, this six-member band plays it all. They truly put on what you want to see – a show. Band members include: Ashley Runner, Ewen Williams, Nick Phakpiseth, Steve Ramirez, Griffin Wright and Adrienne McBride.
1:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. – Hobo Jazz – Some call them a skiffle band, some say blues, hillbilly, folk or even jazz. Hobo Jazz plays the music of the contemporary 1930’s hobo country bluesman. Part rail ridin’ music, part field holler sonnet, part rock-a-billy, one part dirty hobo, one part hot jazz.
Train lovers can tour the #3751 Steam Engine along with the six restored train cars at the depot upon its arrival from Los Angeles at approximately 11:30 a.m. on Saturday until it departs on Sunday at 3:00 p.m. BNSF locomotives will also be displayed and available to tour. Tours are free to the public.
Tickets are available for purchase to ride in one of the historic train cars which will be pulled by the Steam Engine. Other festivities taking place at the Santa Fe Depot, located at 1170 West 3rd Street, San Bernardino, during Railroad Days include: Displays by BNSF, the major sponsor of the event; photographic displays; model train displays; a mechanical bull; antique fire trucks and automobiles; re-enactors strolling throughout the area; food vendors; train-related booths; drawings to win prizes; and more.
The San Bernardino History and Railroad Museum, located at the Depot, will be open to the public both days at no charge. It contains many unique railroad memorabilia and one-of-a-kind artifacts, antique horse-drawn buggies and the first automobile operated in San Bernardino.
San Bernardino Railroad Days are Saturday, April 16 from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. and Sunday, April 17 from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. at the Santa Fe Depot located at 1170 West 3rd Street, San Bernardino.
