SB County Regional Parks to clean Santa Ana River Trail

San Bernardino, CA – In celebration of Earth Day 2016, San Bernardino County Regional Parks Department and the California Conservation Corps (CCC) will partner today and join more than 1 billion people cleaning up their local community.

Earth Day aims to encourage people across the world to be more environmentally-friendly. This could mean increasing recycling efforts, installing solar panels or volunteering for a local green project. For Regional Parks and the CCC, the focus this year will be on the county’s portion of the Santa Ana River Trail, which spans more than seven miles from Waterman Avenue in San Bernardino to the Riverside County Line. CCC members will donate their time to beautify the trail by providing weed abatement services, tree pruning, and general trail clean-up.

The California Conservation Corps is a state agency that brings together young men and women between the ages of 18 and 25 to offer job training opportunities, while improving California’s natural resources. They also assist with emergency response including fires, floods, earthquakes and pest infestations. The CCC’s Inland Empire Center is based in San Bernardino.
