Seminar to help employers navigate California’s many ‘leave laws’

RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CA Finesse Staffing (www.finessestaffing.com) and the California Employers Association (www.employers.org) have partnered to host an exclusive seminar to help Inland Empire employers better understand their rights and responsibilities pertaining to California’s many leave laws.

The training event will be held May 15, 2012, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Inland Empire United Way, located at 9624 Hermosa Ave in Rancho Cucamonga. Local business owners, executives, HR professionals and other business decision makers are invited to register for free at http://www.eventbrite.com/event/3258733961, or by calling (909) 466-9933.

“California is the most generous with regard to leave laws. The state provides many entitlements that employers need to be aware of, should any of their workers need to take a leave of absence for medical or family reasons,” said Sarah Cullins, president of Finesse Staffing. “Working with the California Employers Association, we designed the training seminar to simplify these laws and help businesses avoid violations.”

Stacy Rochelle, regional director with the California Employers Association, will instruct the training seminar. Rochelle is an experienced HR generalist and has assisted hundreds of California businesses with wage and hour laws and employee relations during the last 15 years. She has represented several of CEA’s member businesses in numerous labor commission hearings, with collective bargaining units and in handling labor negotiations.
