Seminar: Understanding Your Financial Statements

CVWBC PRESENTS, “UNDERSTANDING YOUR FINANCIAL STATEMENTS” WITH KELLI COX, CPA ON THURSDAY, JULY 28.

Palm Desert, California. – The Coachella Valley Women’s Business Center (CVWBC) is presenting a workshop entitled, “Understanding Your Financial Statements” on Thursday, July 28, 2016 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Workforce Development Center in Indio.

Whether you are writing a business plan and confused about the financial statements, or own a business and just want a better handle on where the money goes and why, this workshop is a must. Participants will acquire an understanding of basic accounting methods and understand why financial statements are important, what each statement says about your business, and how financial statements predict business growth. This knowledge enables participants to make better managerial decisions based on knowing how to read and understand their financial statements.

Facilitator for the workshop is Kelli Cox, CPA of Godecke Clark, CPA Professionals. Ms. Cox has seven years of experience as a CPA, prior to which she spent 17 years growing a small business. Ms. Cox volunteers at several local organizations, including American Business Women’s Association and the Cathedral City Chamber of Commerce.

The Coachella Valley Women’s Business Center is a program of the Inland Empire Center for Entrepreneurship at Cal State San Bernardino in partnership with the U.S. Small Business Administration. The CVWBC is a grant-funded program which provides free business counseling, free and low-cost workshops and events, and mentoring designed for women business owners, but available to all.

The program provides services in English and Spanish to Latina business owners, currently the fastest growing group of women business owners in the country. The Coachella Valley Women’s Business Center’s hours are Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
