Rancho Cucamonga, Ca – On Wednesday, June 5, Senator Mike Morrell honored The Unforgettables Foundation as the 23rd Senate District Nonprofit of the Year at the State Capitol.

Founded in 1999, with the assistance of local educators, medical professionals, social workers, CPAs, attorneys, bankers, morticians, and others, The Unforgettables Foundation helps low-income families provide dignified, appropriate burials for children who have passed away.

“The Unforgettables Foundation comes alongside families in the most difficult circumstances,” said Morrell. “I am grateful for their call and mission. Tim Evans and his team provide invaluable support and resources for our community. That this organization also devotes time each year to honor the work of other nonprofits through the Unforgettable Hearts Awards makes the foundation a fitting choice for this recognition.”

The driving force behind The Unforgettables Foundation is Tim Evans, an ordained Christian chaplain for over 35 years who also served as the founding chaplain of Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital. Under his leadership, The Unforgettables Foundation has assisted over 6,000 Inland Empire and Desert Area families in financial need with more than $4 million for essential funeral funds.

“I know that I am often the face of The Unforgettables, but it is truly a team effort,” said Evans. “I want to thank our community partners for their support over the years, which has allowed our organization to live out its mission and serve families when they experience the heartbreaking loss of a child. Senator Morrell gets it. I appreciate this honor and the spotlight it shines on our efforts.”
