Chino, CA – Senator Connie M. Leyva today recognized Project Sister (Sisters In Service To End Rape) Family Services in Pomona as the 20th State Senate District “Nonprofit of the Year” for 2019.
Founded in 1972, Project Sister provides critical services to survivors of sexual assault and abuse and their families in the greater Pomona and Claremont areas, as well as the Inland Empire regions of Southern California. Beyond providing crisis assistance to individuals in urgent need of information and services, Project Sister also offers important outreach and prevention education programs so that others are educated and empowered in helping to prevent future instances of assault and abuse. Serving over 15,000 individuals annually, this impactful non-profit organization provides a wide-range of services, including a 24-hour hotline, individual and group counseling, prevention training and self-defense classes, among other services.

Senator Leyva recognized Project Sister Family Services as “Nonprofit of the Year” at a California Nonprofits Day celebration in Sacramento.
