Southbound I-215 to Be Closed and Traffic Taken Off on Saturday

Detour Map for I-215 Closure

Full Closure
As part of the Interstate 215 Widening Project, southbound I-215 will be closed and traffic taken off the freeway at Mount Vernon Avenue/27th Street off-ramp. The closure duration is for a 24-hour period. The closure is necessary as crews work to shift southbound I-215 traffic to the middle of the freeway so that on- and off-ramp
configuration work for Baseline Street and 5th Street can continue to move forward.

Closure and Opening Date for Full Closure Work
Saturday, December 11, 2010 at 8 p.m. – Southbound I-215 traffic to exit at Mt. Vernon
Avenue/27th Street off-ramp.

Sunday, December 12, 2010 at 8 p.m. – Southbound I-215 traffic to reopen at Mt. Vernon
Avenue/27th Street off-ramp.

NOTE: Southbound SR-259 to southbound I-215 will remain open to motorists and there is no detour for this travel option.

Detour
To Southbound I-215: Exit Mt. Vernon Avenue/27th Street, south on Mt. Vernon Avenue to 5th Street, turn left and go east on 5th Street to H Street, turn right and head south to 2nd Street, turn right and head west to 2nd Street to southbound I-215 on-ramp.
