Target and United Way Bring Holiday Cheer To Families In Need

RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CA  – On Monday, December 20, 2010 Inland Empire United Way (IEUW) staff and volunteers will pick up donated holiday trees from local Target locations and distribute them to various families and nonprofit partners in the Inland Empire.

Through the Target Share-a-Tree Program, Target stores across the country are partnering with local United Ways to donate artificial cashmere trees to families in need through local community partners, including shelters, community centers and childcare programs. IEUW is partnering with Target locations in Rancho Cucamonga, Upland, Montclair, Ontario, Fontana, Redlands, La Verne and Diamond Bar for the holiday trees.

“We are so grateful for Target’s commitment to our community not only during the holiday season, but throughout the year,” said Inland Empire United Way President and CEO Gregory Bradbard.  “The Share-a-Tree program is just one example of their partnership with United Way and dedication to making the lives of families brighter in the Inland Empire!”

For its 20th consecutive year, the Target Share-a-Tree Program will donate over 2,600 decorated holiday trees to families nationwide. In 2009, more than 3,400 decorated holiday display trees valued at over $1.7 million were donated to nonprofit agencies and families in need across the country.
