Teen Summit on Anti-Bullying – Be the Change You Want to See

Fontana, California,  The Mayor and City Council invite the public to the Teen Summit on Anti-Bullying, an event hosted by the Fontana Mayor’s Youth Advisory Council in collaboration with the City of Fontana Community Services Department, After School Program, Fontana Unified School District and Community Alliance for Fontana Students (CAFFS). The Teen Summit on Anti-Bullying will be held at the Jack Bulik Teen Center, located at 16581 Filbert Street, on Saturday, March 10th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Join the City of Fontana in developing a city and school district wide plan to address the bullying epidemic. The Summit on Anti-Bullying is free to the public (recommended age group is 9 years old to 18). Each attendee will receive information on how to deal with bullies, how to stand up to bullies in a safe way and resources for those who may be considered bullies.  T-shirts and wristbands with anti-bullying themed messages will also be presented to those individuals that play an active role in the interactive discussions, so come out and be heard!

The event will bring together professional bullying experts, local government officials and will feature a guest appearance from a former Los Angeles Dodger.  The anti-bullying plan will be developed largely by youth from the general public and from from the Fontana After School Program.

“After School Program participants have been diligently studying anti-bullying techniques and will play a lead role during this event,” said Jason Hendrix, Community Services Coordinator.  “This is a great opportunity for the general public and youth of community to be the change they want to see.”

Light refreshments and food will also be provided. For more information about the Teen Summit on Anti-Bullying please call the Jack Bulik Teen Center at 909-349-6983 or visit youth.fontana.org.
