Temecula Residents Jumping On The Solar Bandwagon

TEMECULA RESIDENTS JUMPING ON SOLAR BANDWAGON
Temecula Solar Program Pays Property Owners to Go Solar through April 12, 2012

TEMECULA, CA. — In response to the Temecula Solar Program, local residents have been feverishly signing up to go solar. To date 25 Temecula residents have signed up to participate in the citywide incentive program. Combined, over 100,000 watts of solar power are currently scheduled to be installed within the community. The program administrator, Sullivan Solar Power, says an additional 96 residents have received custom proposals for their properties. Given the high level of interest in the program, Sullivan Solar Power expects that an additional 100,000 watts will be scheduled before the program closes on April 12th.

The program provides Temecula homeowners and businesses the financial tools to go solar for no money out of pocket. The monthly payments participants make for their solar power systems are often times much less than the electric bill that the solar power system eliminated. According to Sullivan, a homeowner with an electric bill of $200 can go solar for $150 per month. Over the term of the solar power agreement, the homeowner will save $20,000. In addition, after the system is installed, the Temecula Solar Program will pay participants for going solar. The average homeowner in Temecula will receive a check for $2,250.

“My main reason for going solar was that it was a great investment. I wanted to take advantage of the rebates and incentives while they were still available,” said Temecula Solar Program participant, Gary Gelinas, “The cost of my solar system will be much less than my electric bills. Add in the fact that Sullivan Solar Power is providing nice cash-back incentive for Temecula citizens, it was just too many discounts to ignore.”

The incentive program hit its first milestone on Tuesday, and all Temecula property owners that sign up are guaranteed 5% cash-back on the total project cost. The program was set up in a manner to create a critical mass; the more people who sign up, the greater the incentives will be. If Sullivan Solar Power meets its expectation, all participants will receive a check for 10% of the overall project cost, even if they don’t spend money upfront.

“We are really happy to see that the City is responding favorably to the Temecula Solar Program. With the financing the program offers and the cash payments for going solar, it really is a no brainer,” said Daniel Sullivan, founder and President of Sullivan Solar Power, “People are getting paid to save money every month. This is our version of a stimulus program, and it works.”
