Terrific Exhibit: 2012 UC Riverside 1st and 2nd Year MFA Exhibition

Riverside CA – The Riverside Art Museum (RAM) announces the opening of Terrific Exhibit: 2012 UC Riverside 1st and 2nd Year MFA Exhibition. The exhibition runs from May 5th to June 7th, 2012, with a special reception on Saturday, May 5th, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.

The Riverside Art Museum is pleased to host the 2012 University of California, Riverside, Masters of Fine Arts Exhibition, spotlighting the work of eight first year and second year graduate students, facilitated by UCR Associate Professor of Art, Brandon Lattu. These students work in various media, including: sculpture, painting, photography, video, and installation. Working towards the culmination of their thesis projects, they each approach their work with a unique voice, conceptual framework, and formal sensibility. All of the students in the exhibition are actively engaged in dialogue with an important lineage of artistic practice and the ever-evolving arena of contemporary art.

Participating artists in this year’s exhibition include: Gabriel Arroyo (2nd Year), Rachel Bank (2nd Year), Nicholas Lowe (2nd Year), Justin Lubliner (2nd Year), Patrick Quan (1st Year), Chelsea Rector (1st Year), Carter Seddon (2nd Year), and Michael Shroads (1st Year). The opening reception held on Saturday, May 5th from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. is free and open to the public.

RAM relies on the generosity of members and donors to support its exhibitions, education programs, and special events. A 50-plus-year-old, private, non-profit cultural arts institution housed in a National Historic 1929 building designed by Hearst Castle architect Julia Morgan, the museum welcomes over 50,000 visitors a year. The museum is open Tuesday – Saturday, 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. and Sunday, 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. For information on exhibits, events, classes, memberships, or sponsorship opportunities, visit www.RiversideArtMuseum.org.
