The Fontana Community Senior Center offers assistance with tax preparation

Fontana, California – The Mayor and City Council invite seniors to visit the Fontana Community Senior Center and receive assistance from AARP in preparing their taxes. Tax season can be a stressful time full of worries and anguish, but that does not have to be the case in 2011.

AARP Free Tax Aide is for low- or moderate-income taxpayers, with special attention to those aged 60 and up. Aid is available every Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. starting on Feb. 1 and ending on April 12. No appointment is necessary. Assistance is on a first come, first serve basis. Participants must check in on-site prior to receiving assistance, check in is from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. The Fontana Community Senior Center is located at 16710 Ceres Avenue.

“There are a lot of people who have questions about how to properly file their income taxes, or those who don’t know what deductions they would qualify for,” says Tiffany Starks, Community Services Coordinator. “We have invited AARP to our center to help out during what many people would consider a confusing process.”
