‘The Full Monty’ Opens This Week at the Candlelight Pavilion

CLAREMONT, CA – 5/11/13- Seeing how much their wives enjoy watching male strippers during their “Girls’ Night Out,” unemployed steelworkers in Buffalo, New York come up with a bold way to make some quick cash. In the process they find renewed self-esteem, the importance of friendship and the ability to have fun. As the guys work through their fears, self-consciousness, feelings of worthlessness and anxieties, they come to discover that not only are they stronger as a group, but that the strength they find in each other gives them the individual courage to face their demons and overcome them. The Full Monty is a glorious delight!

When The Full Monty appeared for the first time on the Candlelight stage in 2009, it took our audiences by storm. An obvious hit with our female patrons, whose interest was instantly piqued by the suggestive premise, but, surprisingly, also by our male viewers, who finally found a musical about themselves. This show is about the “Everyman”, and what it takes to be a “Man”. In The Full Monty, we follow six men, each very different and not your typical stripper types. These men, beaten down by life and love, are hungry and unemployed and will do just about anything to provide for and save their families, not to mention their own pride. As they battle through issues like body weight, self-esteem, self-worth, and lack of talent, they somehow come through it all with staggering results. Realizing that regardless of weight, looks, or IQ, a real man can step up to the plate. He just has to have the guts to do it. Opening in the same season as the smash hit The Producers, The Full Monty has ten times the heart and the humor. Do yourselves a favor. Come to the Candlelight, have fun, and Let It Go!

The talented cast includes Stacy Huntington (Georgie Bukatinsky), Jackson Tobiska (Buddy “Keno” Walsh), Jeremy Magouirk (Reg Willoughby), Louis Pardo (Jerry Lukowski), Sheldon Robert Morley (Dave Bukatinsky), Nick Tubbs (Malcolm MacGregor), Kristofer Sundquist (Ethan Girard), Tanner Davis (Nathan Lukowski), Chelsea Emma Franko (Susan Hershey), Jessica Mason (Joanie Lish), Michaelia Leigh (Estelle Genovese), Stephanie Draude (Pam Lukowski), Paul J.
