Theatrical Event to Highlight Reliance Community Church's Easter Celebration

Unprecedented Theatrical Event to Highlight Reliance Community Church’s

Easter Celebration

Upland, California – It’s not a common occurrence for a church to stage its Easter services in a theatre with a multimedia production featuring live music, professional actors and musicians, video, and other dramatic effects.

But Reliance Community Church is no ordinary Christian church.  A congregation committed to reaching out to the Inland Empire to spread its message of hope and love, Reliance Community Church believes the way to truly connect with those seeking Christ’s healing and forgiveness is through the transformative power of song and the sharing of real stories of struggle and pain. This year’s Easter production is designed to awaken God’s Hope in us.

Two distinct performances will be given; on Good Friday, April 6th at 7:30 pm, and again on Easter Sunday, April 8that 10 am, the church will welcome young and old, members and nonmembers, to an original music performance of “It’s a Matter of the Heart” at the Grove Theatre, 276 East 9th St. in Upland. Admission is free.

“For this holiest of days, our goal is to tell the story of resurrection and renewal through our own stories,” says Joel Pagett, Pastor of Reliance Community Church. “What better way to affirm God’s love and redemption than by showing how He has changed the lives of the very performers on stage.

Its Musical Director Corey Hirsch, a graduate of the Julliard School, composed the score of each 90-minute production. And the multimedia drama—performed by professional singers, actors and a contemporary band—was produced by At the Grove Theatre Productions’ Bill and Sherry Kinison in collaboration with Reliance Community. Performers will narrate true personal accounts of pain, loss, setbacks, conflicts, and challenges in their lives—stressing how their faith in God has put them back on a path toward fulfilling their hopes and dreams.

Pastor Joel invites all in the community who have lost hope in their faith, and wish to strengthen their love of Jesus, to the one-of-a-kind theatrical production. “We think it’s is a great way for everyone, from families to individuals, to relax, enjoy a stirring performance and experience the spiritual rebirth that Easter is all about.”

Reliance Community Church is a non-denominational Christian church where the spiritually uninvolved, unconvinced and unconnected can discover at their own pace who God is and what He can do for their lives.
