Between the Tides is the story of former marine biologist Bud Laurent’s quest to “come full circle” and reconnect with his past and perhaps himself. Laurent uses the works and philosophy of ecologist Ed Ricketts as a thread to visit and reflect with some remarkable people—individuals living “an Ed Ricketts kind of life” who call the Pacific coast their home.
Whether you’re a marine biologist, teacher, student, or curious ocean lover, this is your chance to see the film, which is not available on Netflix, Amazon, or iTunes. You’ll learn about one of the true pioneers of modern biology while looking through a nostalgic window into the ocean world. You’ll also enjoy a special introduction by the filmmaker, Peter Coonradt, who will answer questions after the viewing.
