Feeding America INland Empire

FARSB to support “Make Caring the NORM!” – an initiative to fight hunger in local communities

Riverside, CA – Feeding America Riverside | San Bernardino (FARSB) is asking members of the community and local businesses to show support in a big way at the local NORMS located at 3889 Tyler St, Riverside, CA 92503, this Tuesday, August 21, 2018, between 11:30 a.m.- 1:00 p.m.

“We want to thank and celebrate our local NORMS for their partnership with us in their company’s annual hunger fighting promotion, “Make Caring the NORM”, by having as many people as we can, show up at the Riverside NORMS location at 3889 Tyler Street during lunch hours that day,” says FARSB CEO, Stephanie Otero.

This years “Make Caring the NORM” promotion, which began August 6 and continues through September 3, 2018, is available 24 hours a day. Through the duration of this campaign, NORMS is encouraging guests at the Riverside and 17 other SoCal locations to donate 3 dollars during their visit to assist local food banks, like FARSB.

Just $3 can provide 27 meals to food insecure families throughout Riverside and San Bernardino Counties. As a token of appreciation for all customer donations to FARSB, NORMS guests will receive a booklet including more than $50 in savings to be used on future NORMS visits through October 2018.

“This two hour event on August 21 will be a fun time for everyone in the community who cares about hunger and food insecurity to create a lunch rush or lunch mob to show support for NORMS for their continual support of those in our community who are in need,” Otero added.

Guests who dine between 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. on August 21 can enter to win prizes and meet some of the dedicated staff eager to fight hunger here locally.

According to Otero, donations at this time are immediately needed to help FARSB support the victims of recent fires in the Inland Empire.  Already, 58,000 pounds of food and supplies have been delivered by FARSB to support the Cranston and Holy fire.

Last year alone, NORMS donated more than $25,000 to Feeding America Riverside | San Bernardino, LA Reginal Food Bank and Second Harvest of Orange County, which translated to 100,928 meals in local communities.
