University of Redlands Professor Awarded Fulbright Scholar Grant

Katherine Baber, Visiting Professor at the University of Redlands School of Music has been awarded a Fulbright Scholar grant, the Fulbright-Botstiber Visting Professor of Austria-America Studies, to lecture and research at the Institut für Musikwissenschaft of the Universität Wien during the 2012-2013 academic year, according to the United States Department of State and the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board.

Baber will be teaching courses on the music of Leonard Bernstein and trans-Atlantic exchanges in twentieth century music while pursuing research at the archives of the Vienna Philharmonic for a project on the politics of Austrian-American cultural exchanges during the Cold War.

Baber is one of approximately 1,100 U.S. faculty and professionals who will travel abroad through the Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program in 2012-2013.
