Workshop Educates Small Businesses About Government Contracting Opportunities

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (July 12, 2011) — The City of San Bernardino, Economic Development Agency, Office of Business Development is hosting a workshop on “Doing Business With the Government,” from 9 a.m. to 11 am, Thursday, July 14.  The workshop will be held at the Office of Business Development, 201-B N. E Street, Suite 200, in San Bernardino.

The seminar is also sponsored by the California Small Business Development Center (SBDC), the U.S. Small Business Association and the Inland Empire Economic Partnership.

The workshop will focus on how small businesses can sell their products and services to the government. Topics of discussion include areas such as government contracting and bid preparation.

“The government needs several goods and services to keep it functioning such as supplies and contract work opportunities,” said Lori Tillery, economic development manager. “Small businesses need to take advantage of the many economic opportunities created by the government’s demand for services.”
