You Will be Amazed at What Some People Did for a Living!

Join San Bernardino County Museum Curator of History Michele Nielsen for a presentation, “Step Back in Time to the World of Work in Our County,” in the Mariposa Clubhouse at Del Webb’s Sun City in Apple Valley on Friday, January 14 at 1pm. This event is free and open to public.

In this special “Outside the Gallery” talk, visitors will be able to look at the world of work through the lens of our county’s history, using a variety of photographic images from the museum’s permanent collections.

“Historic photographs are a great way to gain insightful, sometimes funny, and often poignant views into the past,” said Nielsen. “Take a guess at what equipment was assigned to the County Forester in the 1920s, discover several common occupations off the day that are now long forgotten, and find out about business equipment that had to be fed instead of oiled!”

This one hour program is free of charge and open to Del Webb homeowners and the public. Del Webb’s Sun City Apple Valley is located at 19311 Jesse Ranch Parkway in Apple Valley. Residents of Sun City are asked to call (760) 247-9195 to make reservations. No reservations are necessary for the general public.
