Youth and Adult Poetry Workshops at Riverside Art Museum

YOUTH: “The Art of Poetry” Put your visions into words and your words into visions. Create a mixed-media journal to capture your ideas and inspiration. Experiment with collage, drawing, and painting to inspire your poems. The Abecedarian poetry form will be used as a means to create meaningful poetry. Analyzing famous works of art will also be part of this week as students make connections between art and literature. Sure to be a wonderful class for anyone who wants to learn to express themselves.

Instructor: Maureen Alsop Tuesdays: July 19, 26, August 2, 9, 16 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. (Ages 10-14) $130 (RAM Members $117)

ADULT: “Poetry Unveiled”

Unveil your inner creativity in this relaxing poetry class. Meeting in the museum’s beautiful Atrium with its tranquil fountain and spa-like feel, you will surely find inspiration to pen beautiful poetry. After composing your poetry, you will be creating a personal treasure box using collage and painting techniques. Put your words into visions and your visions into words and join us for this stress-free class.

Class size is limited, so please enroll early as classes are sure to fill up! RAM member discounts are given to those who have joined at the FAMILY level or above.

All refund requests must be received in writing one week prior to the first class meeting. Fifteen (15%) percent of the class fee is retained by RAM. If RAM cancels a class due to insufficient enrollment, the entire class fee will be refunded within 10 days of cancellation.

All materials will be provided. Students may bring a snack for the break.
