Yucaipa Christian School Trike-A-Thon, Serve-A-Thon Raise Funds for Education

On April 20, Yucaipa Christian School held its 11th Annual Trike-A-Thon. More than 80 three to five year old students participated in collecting sponsorships and riding their bicycles or tricycles around the basketball court. Each year, the event raises money for the school to buy technology, outdoor equipment and classroom supplies.

The day also held activities for the students such as face painting, bounce houses, Jelly Bean the clown and baseball themed games. The local fire department brought their rig to the event to allow the students to see a fire truck up close and learn about the equipment they use.

The day ended with a barbeque for students and their parents, and a craft project giving students the opportunity to make their own medals for a job well done.

The school will hold its 11th Annual Serve-A-Thon on Friday, April 27 beginning at 10:00 a.m. for the Kindergarten through 6th grade students. Traditionally, this has been a walk-a-thon or jog-a-thon event, however this year, to better align with one of the school’s core values of “Service,” the students will be participating in a Serve-A-Thon. They will be raising money by participating in community outreach and doing service projects such as visiting senior homes and doing craft projects and creating care packages for members of the armed forces.
