“In keeping with the spirit of their organization, members of the Yucaipa Women’s Club and other concerned citizens worked diligently to save the Yucaipa Adobe from destruction in the 1950s,” said Nielsen. “We have them to thank for our wonderful historic site. As an organization, they are still going strong, and will celebrate their 100th year in 2011”.
This event, free to the public, will include informal tours of the Adobe. One of the San Bernardino County Museum historic sites, the Yucaipa Adobe is at 32183 Kentucky Street in Yucaipa, just north of Interstate 10.
