Yucaipa Christian Schools Relocates After 40 Years
School moves to new campuses to reduce costs and serve more students
YUCAIPA, Calif. – Yucaipa Christian Schools (YCS) announced today that they will be moving to new campus facilities on June 23 and June 30. The elementary school will relocate to United Methodist Church located at 35177 Beech Street, and the preschool will relocate to Yucaipa Valley Church of the Nazarene located at 34968 Avenue H.
“The move will help us reduce our overhead by 35 percent, while giving us the space we need for future growth,” said YCS Principal James Cochran. “It was the prefect opportunity to cut costs so we can continue to provide our students, their families and the community with the best educational programs.”
YCS will host a rummage sale on Saturday, June 30 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the old campus, First Baptist Church located at 34784 Yucaipa Boulevard. The sale will include textbooks, school and office furniture, library books, appliances, craft supplies and much more. Materials will be of special interest to home-school families.
YCS currently provides instruction to approximately 200 students. The 2012-2013 school year will begin at each new location on August 27, 2012. Enrollment applications are currently being accepted and may be downloaded from the school’s website (yucaipachristianschool.org), requested from the school office (909-790-9411), or picked up at 34784 Yucaipa Blvd, Yucaipa, CA 92399.
The preschool offers classes year-round for 2 ½ year olds to transitional kindergarten. Transitional kindergarten was recently passed by the California legislature to allow students who don’t meet the age requirement for kindergarten but are too advanced for preschool.
The elementary school offers a comprehensive academic program for kindergarten through sixth grade including afterschool programs such as dance, Spanish, art, karate, running club and the Strada Corsa bike club.
