Corona, CA – Assemblymember Sabrina Cervantes honored Don Kindred of Corona as the 60th Assembly District’s Veteran of the Year during the 11th Annual Veterans Recognition Luncheon at the State Capitol. Don Kindred served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Haleakala in Vietnam.
“Don Kindred served our country with honor and distinction, and has long been a pillar of the Corona community,” said Assemblymember Cervantes. “Through his involvement in various local organizations, Don has demonstrated a commitment to enhancing the quality of life in our region. It is with great pride that I have honored him as the 2018 Veteran of the Year for the 60th Assembly District.”
Upon his retirement in 2008, Don founded the Corona Symphony Orchestra, and currently serves as its Executive Director, bringing music and the arts to our community. Don serves as President of the Arts Alive Council of Corona and Circle City Kiwanis. He also remains involved with the Christian Arts & Theater of Corona, the Corona Norco Unified School District Youth Education Motivation Program, and Veterans Honoring Veterans
