Manufacturing Council Will Host Leveraging Mechanical Magic to Foster the Next Generation of Manufacturers

The Manufacturers Council of the Inland Empire (MCIE) will host their next meeting on Tuesday, November 19.

Fontana, Ca -MCIE Partner, Education through Imagination, LLC., a STEAM education and career exploration company, inspired by the work of Garner Holt Productions, will talk about how partners are informing kids and their parents about manufacturing careers.

Students are learning that manufacturing jobs aren’t “dirty jobs” anymore.  “Local manufacturer, Garner Holt Productions, provides a great example of how we can take an active role in re-educating K-12 kids about creative careers in manufacturing,” said Molly Burgess, Executive Director of the MCIE. “We hope that other manufacturers will be inspired to provide students with authentic experiences and help them understand the great possibilities that exist for jobs in manufacturing.”

Bill Tynan, Director of Secondary Education and Workforce Development will present. Attendees at the breakfast will learn about the innovative projects that kids are doing at schools in the region.

The meeting is open to manufacturers and supporters of manufacturing. Reservations are required prior to Monday, November 19, at 12 p.m. The meeting will be at the Intech Center in Fontana, on November 19, starting at 7 a.m. with a continental breakfast.
