City of Fontana

The City of Fontana was founded in 1913 in San Bernardino County. It grew out of a rural area into today’s 200,000+ residents, and is dominated by industrial, logistics, transportation and steel.

During WWII, Kaiser Steel was built and helped drive the local economy. Today, Kaiser Permanente Health care still thrives in Fontana and now the world famous “Auto Club Speedway” sits on the old site of the Kaiser Steel Mill.
