More than 100 Local Students Participated in SkillsUSA Conference

Students showcased automotive skills in a bid to make it to the state competition; event hosted by Universal Technical Institute-Rancho Cucamonga        

Rancho Cucamonga, CA – On Saturday, Feb. 2, more than 100 students from 20 schools in the region participated in a hands-on competition that tested their automotive, diesel and welding skills, as part of the SkillsUSA Region 6 Conference event taking place at the Universal Technical Institute – Rancho Cucamonga (UTI).

Students were able to win medals and advance to the state competition, which will take place this upcoming April in Ontario, Calif. They also spoke with organizations at the event recruiting and educating them on careers within their trades.

UTI is the nation’s leading provider of automotive and diesel technician training. The Rancho Cucamonga campus hosts multiple youth-and-STEM/CTE focused events on campus each year.
