Omnitrans – Free Bus Ride Opportunity for Earth Week

Omnitrans

San Bernardino, CA – In honor of Earth Day, Omnitrans is providing an incentive to try Earth-friendly transportation with a free one-day mobile bus pass available the week of April 22-26, 2019.

“Switching to transit helps reduce pollution by getting cars off the road,” said Omnitrans spokesperson Wendy Williams, “and the air quality benefit is magnified since we use clean fuel vehicles.”

Omnitrans’ fleet of 178 transit buses are powered by natural gas which generate 88% less particulate matter per passenger mile than traditionally-fueled diesel buses. Using Omnitrans for just one day instead of driving cuts carbon emissions by 20 pounds. Over a year, that translates to nearly 5,000 pounds of emissions.

The free ride offer will be available through the Token Transit mobile app and is limited to one per person.  The free pass will be available at: www.tokentransit.com/omniearthweek2019 beginning on April 22. The regular price for a one-day pass is $5.00.

Social Media Contest

Additionally, Omnitrans is giving people a chance to win movie tickets by posting a photo that demonstrates kindness to the Earth either by riding Omnitrans or by picking up trash at a bus stop or transit center.  Photos must tag Omnitrans and be posted on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter during Earth Week, April 22-26.  Omnitrans will select three winners at random on Monday, April 29.

The Earth Week free ride offer applies to any of Omnitrans 35 bus routes including freeway express and local bus routes, the sbX rapid line, and OmniGo community shuttles; it is not applicable to Access service for persons with disabilities.

Personalized trip planning assistance is available through the Omnitrans information center, at 800-9-OMNIBUS (800-966-6428), or online at www.omnitrans.org.
