Riverside: Haigh Wins Best of Show with “Terpsichore” During Riverside Ballet Benefit

Winners Announced at Night Gallery Black & White Ball Art Show

Riverside, CA – 10/24/2016 – In honor of Ghost Walk Riverside’s 25th Anniversary Celebration, California Riverside Ballet presented Night Gallery Black & White Ball, a juried art show and auction on October 16, 2016.

Twelve works were selected as finalists by an esteemed panel of judges which included Caryn Marsella, Allen Morton, Rachel Dzikonski, and Elica Morrison.

Rachel Haigh, graduate of the Art Institute of California Inland Empire, was awarded both a Gold Award and the esteemed honor of Best in Show for her digital art piece titled “Terpsichore”.

Other awardees included Gold Award Winner Michael J. Elderman, Silver Award Winners Trinity Dzvonick, Allison Wood, and Silvia Pangaro, and the Chair’s Choice Award presented by Honorary Event Chair and City of Riverside Ward 1 Council Member Mike Gardner to Ailyn Chavez. Proceeds from the event will benefit California Riverside Ballet’s Academy Program. The Academy Program offers affordable ballet training to students ages 7-10 at three Riverside Community Centers – Cesar Chavez, Arlanza, and Villegas. California Riverside Ballet’s mission is to present the finest in classical and contemporary ballet to the community.

The event was in celebration of California Riverside Ballet’s Ghost Walk Riverside which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. The long running event is scheduled for this Friday and Saturday night, October 28-29, 2016, for 6:00-9:00 p.m. in downtown Riverside. For Ghost Walk tickets, please click here.
