Riverside Public Utilities Welcomes New Board Member

Riverside, CaRiverside Public Utilities (RPU) welcomed its newest member, Elizabeth Sanchez-Monville to its Board of Public Utilities at its meeting last night.

Sanchez-Monville, who was born and raised in Riverside, is a 32-year resident who graduated from Poly High School before getting her B.A. in Political Science from Cal State University San Bernardino.

She has 17 years in the legislative affairs arena including working as a Legislative Aide for the U.S. House of Representatives, serving former Mayor Ron Loveridge, and as Riverside Public Utilities’ Senior Legislative Analyst where she managed RPU’s state and federal legislative policy portfolio and was active with the Association of California Water Agencies and the Southern California Public Power Authority.

“Elizabeth’s many years in state and federal legislative affairs, broad knowledge of the California water and power regulatory environment and knowledge of RPU itself will be of great benefit, and be a good addition to our Board,” said General Manager Girish Balachandran.

“It is a privilege to serve my community. I am excited to work with the great team at RPU to plan for Riverside’s future water and power needs, explore ways to be innovative and continue to be responsible stewards of rate-payer dollars,” said Sanchez-Monville.
