U of Redlands Spacial Symposium

Event explores the impact of geographic information systems on the present and the future

Redlands, Ca – The University of Redlands will celebrate spatial learning, research, and community service conducted by students, faculty, administrators, and campus programs at its annual spatial symposium beginning at 5 p.m. March 26 in the Casa Loma Room at the University of Redlands main campus.

Dr. Steven Moore, director of the Center for Spatial Studies, will introduce the event with his talk, “Spatial Thinking: What’s it good for?” followed by the presentation of awards including the Tomlinson Prize for Excellence in GIS and the Spatial Business Student Excellence Awards.

The keynote address, “Your Brain on GIS:  How does GIS software use impact your spatial thinking skills?” will be presented by Bob Kolvoord, dean of the College of Integrated Science and Engineering at James Madison University.
