‘Tis the Season for Many Fun and Festive Events in Fontana

Fontana, Calif. – It’s beginning to look a lot like a Christmas, and the City of Fontana is excited to highlight the holiday season with a variety of festive events. This holiday season will feature memorable events for the community including The Tree Lighting Ceremony, Holiday Follies, Breakfast with Santa, Underwater Pictures with Santa, the Christmas Parade, and the Festival of Winter.

The season kicks off with the Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony on Wednesday, November 28 in front of Fontana City Hall (8353 Sierra Ave.) from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The evening’s festivities include holiday performers, refreshments, guest speakers and the official lighting of the tree. Attendees will also get a visit from our jolly friend from the North Pole.

On Friday, November 30, take your selfie with Santa at the Jessie Turner Health & Fitness Community Center (15556 Summit Ave.) from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Bring your camera and kids to snap a picture with Santa. Enjoy Breakfast with Santa on Saturday, December 1 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Don Day Neighborhood Center (14501 Live Oak Ave.) or the Heritage Neighborhood Center (7350 W. Liberty Pkwy). Register early as space is limited, and remember to bring a camera for pictures with Santa. Looking for a non-traditional, one-of-a-kind photo with Santa? The Fontana Aquatics Center (15610 Summit Ave.) is hosting Underwater Pictures with Santa on Saturday, December 8 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Don your best holiday swimsuit and take a dive underwater with Scuba Santa for a memorable photo. On Saturday, December 8, Sierra Avenue comes alive with the Annual Christmas Parade at 10:00 a.m. hosted by the Fontana Exchange Club. The parade begins on the corner of Arrow Boulevard and Sierra Avenue. This family-friendly occasion showcases holiday-themed floats, music, Santa Claus and well-known local figures as they make their way south on the Sierra Avenue parade route. Following the Christmas Parade on Saturday, December 8, the City of Fontana is hosting the free annual Festival of Winter at Miller Park ( 17004 Arrow Blvd.) from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sponsored by the Fontana Foundation of Hope and Bel-Air Swap Meet, enjoy train rides, attractions, live entertainment, photo opportunities with Santa, and a variety of vendors and activity booths.

For the entire month of December, a fan-favorite Holiday Follies show will be live on stage at the Center Stage Theater (8463 Sierra Ave.). This holiday spectacular revue-style performance features current arrangements of holiday classics as well as the traditional melodies. Whether a family tradition or a company gathering, Holiday Follies is the show to see this holiday season.
