This program is intended for teachers, counselors, youth and young adult pastors, and others who work with or support 15-30-year-olds. The objective is to provide information, approaches, resources, and dialogue to aid those who need help in working with this challenging group of people.
- What resources are available to support young people
- How to identify (and manage) a crisis
- What to offer a young person who is not in crisis, but suffers regular bouts of depression and anxiety
- What are “healthy” behaviors and how to encourage them
- What makes things different from past generations and what is contributing to the epidemic of depression and anxiety in young people
FEATURED SPEAKERS:
Dr. Walter Linn, D.Min., Ph.D. LMFT founded Genesis Counseling Service in 1978 and serves as Executive Director. He has worked with couples and families for the last forty years, including speaking at seminars and conferences. He consults with churches on a variety of issues and serves as a Personal Life Coach with pastors and businessmen. He and his wife, Gayle speak at couples retreats and parenting seminars.
Dr. Tony Angelo, PsyD, is a clinical psychologist who specializes in Forensic Psychology, specifically in the treatment of deviant sexual behavior, PTSD, and other forms of trauma, as well as neuropsychological disorders. He is a certified EMDR therapist as well as specializing in other forms of therapy, including Gestalt Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Psychodyanic Therapy. Dr. Angelo currently serves and the Southern California Regional Director for SHARPER FUTURE, one of the state’s largest providers of forensic psychology services.
Dr. Sheir Coulson, Ph.D. is an adjunct professor in the Department of Psychology, College of Social and Behavioral Sciences, Cal State University, San Bernardino.
