Fontana Days Celebration Brings Community Together for Month-Long Festivities

Fontana, Ca – Since 1913, the City of Fontana has come alive with community and shared history in celebration of Fontana Days. This year’s celebration marks the 106th anniversary event, which features a community parade on Saturday, May 4 and a family-fun carnival from Thursday, May 30 to Sunday, June 2.

The Annual Fontana Days Parade will take place on Saturday, May 4 at 10:00 a.m. with this year’s theme, “May the 4th Be with You!” Bring the entire family to see Star Wars characters, watch beautiful floats and listen to local marching bands. The parade will begin on Sierra Ave. and Arrow Blvd., continuing south to Veterans Park (17255 Merrill Ave.).

The fun doesn’t end there. Later in the month, we invite residents to attend the Annual Fontana Days Carnival at Veterans Park on Thursday, May 30- Sunday, June 2. The four-day festival will feature carnival rides and games, live entertainment, and an array of food and novelty vendors. Opening day (Thursday, May 30) is Family Night from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Festival goers can enjoy $1 admission and all rides $1 each. Carnival hours are Friday, May 31, 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.; Saturday, June 1, 12:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. and Sunday, June 2, 12:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

The festivities continue with the world’s fastest and oldest half marathon, the 64th Annual Fontana Days Run that will take place Saturday, June 1 at 7:00 a.m. The Fontana Days Run is an invigorating family-friendly, fitness-focused event that attracts an array of participants. The half marathon begins in beautiful Lytle Creek near Applewhite Campground and finishes in front of Fontana’s City Hall. If the half marathon doesn’t suit your running style, the Fontana Days Run offers a variety of categories for everyone such as a 5K Run, 5K Family Fitness Walk, 5K Race Walk and a Children’s Half Mile Dash.
