Join us for Reach Out’s Homeless Youth Drop-In Center Open House
Upland, CA – On Tuesday, May 15th, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Reach Out welcomes you to join us for our Homeless Youth Drop-In Center open house. The Drop-In Center is located at 1126 W. Foothill Blvd., Suite 205 in Upland.
The Reach Out drop in center is made possible by funding through the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services and is a partnership between Reach Out and the Family Assistance Program in Victorville. Darryl Evey, FAP Executive Director, approached Reach Out to open a center in the West End of San Bernardino County, and the center is now becoming a reality to serve youth 12-21 years of age who need a safe place to be and to receive services.

All youth ages 12-21 will be welcomed. Once students have returned to the center several times and have expressed an interest in services, an in-depth interview will be conducted to determine their needs. The center will cater specifically to those students who are homeless, at risk, or in foster care. The center will offer a safe place for youth to come and relax in an environment that is friendly and has caring adults. Services such as workshops and seminars will be scheduled for youth to attend. Youth will be able to access essential resources such as food, clothing, hygiene items, safe storage of their belongings, and access to computers and phones, all free of charge. Reach Out staff will provide youth with information on safe housing, mental health services, employment training, educational support, independent living skills, and referrals.

Youth homelessness is a huge barrier to educational achievement, health and safety.
