Fontana, Calif. – From livestock to agriculture to the Kaiser Steel Mill, the City of Fontana has come a long way since its humble beginning. With a thriving business climate, expanding infrastructure and a residential population of 213,000 and growing, Fontana is experiencing a period of rapid growth and prosperity like never before. 2017 was an exceptional year for the City of Fontana but the best is yet to come. A complete overview of all the exciting projects completed in 2017, and those planned for 2018 and beyond, are available in the annual report available online at www.fontana.org. 

Some highlights include: 

Department of Housing:

  • Rosena Fountains Multi-Family Project, located at 9451 Olive Street, broke ground July 2017.

Economic Development Division:

  • Highland Village Shopping Center is coming soon – comprised of Sprouts Farmers Market, retail shopping, eateries including Oggi’s Pizza & Brewing Company.

Human Resources Department:

  • The City of Fontana was named a 2017 Top Workplace by the Press Enterprise based on employee survey results administered by a national research firm.

Community Services Department:

  • In 2017, AARP featured the City of Fontana’s award-winning Healthy Fontana program in their Livable Communities publication. Healthy Fontana is recognized for improving the quality of life for people of all ages.

The annual report was released during the 2018 State of City Address on January 18, 2018. Mayor Acquanetta Warren delivered her State of the City speech to the business community focusing on all the progress taking place in Fontana.
